About the Insert Blank PDF Pages

The ByteTools Blank Page Inserter drops empty pages into a PDF exactly where you want them. List the page numbers, say whether the blanks go before or after those pages, choose how many to add at each spot, and download the expanded document.

New pages match the size and orientation of the page you picked by default, so a landscape insert lands in a landscape section without breaking the flow. You can also force A4, Letter or Legal when you need a specific sheet.

Everything runs locally in your browser — the file is never uploaded. Use it to add section dividers, leave room for handwritten notes, insert deliberate back sides before duplex printing, or pad a document to an even page count for a print shop.

Frequently asked questions

How do I add a blank page to a PDF?

Load the document, type the page number you want the blank next to, choose Before or After, and click Insert Blank Pages. The new page matches the size of the page you picked and the finished file downloads instantly.

Can I add blank pages at several places at once?

Yes. Use the same 1,3,5-8 syntax as the other ByteTools PDF tools — commas separate individual pages and hyphens mark ranges — and a blank is inserted at every position you list in one operation.

Why would I add blank pages before printing?

Duplex printing pairs pages front and back, so a section that must start on a right-hand page needs an even count before it. Inserting a deliberate blank keeps chapter openings and signature pages on the correct side of the sheet.

What size are the inserted pages?

By default each blank copies the width, height and orientation of the page you chose, including rotated pages. If you would rather standardise, switch the size option to A4, US Letter or US Legal.

Does inserting pages affect the existing content?

No. The original pages are copied through untouched — same text, images, fonts and page order — and the blanks are simply slotted between them. Your source file on disk is never modified.
