About the Random Address Generator

The Random Address Generator builds street addresses that look right for the country you pick — US street, city, state and ZIP; UK street, town, county and postcode; or Canadian street, city, province and postal code — without using anybody's real address.

It exists for testers and developers who need believable data: filling checkout forms, seeding a staging database, checking address validation, screenshotting a demo, or building a CSV fixture for an import job. Optional flat, unit and apartment lines let you exercise the second address line too.

Everything is assembled on your device from embedded word banks, so no data is uploaded and no address is looked up anywhere. The results are invented and are not deliverable — never use them for real mail or to represent a real business or person.

Frequently asked questions

Are these real addresses?

No. Street names, house numbers and postcodes are combined at random, so a generated address almost certainly does not exist and cannot receive mail. They are for testing and demos only.

Will the postcodes pass validation?

They follow each country's format rules — five digits for a US ZIP with a prefix matching the state, the outward and inward halves of a UK postcode, and the letter and digit alternation of a Canadian postal code — so format checks pass. Checks that query a real postal database will not.

Can I use these addresses for testing a checkout?

Yes, that is exactly what they are for. They suit form validation, field lengths and CSV imports. For anything that talks to a real courier or a payment address-verification service, use that provider's own sandbox data instead.

How do I get the addresses into a spreadsheet?

Press Download CSV. Each address is split into street, unit, city, region, postcode and country columns with proper quoting, so it opens cleanly in Excel, Numbers or Google Sheets.

Does this generate fake names too?

No — this tool covers addresses only. Pair it with the random name generator if your fixture needs people attached to the addresses.
