How do I extract all the frames from a video?

Set the frames-per-second value to match your clip's frame rate, raise the maximum frame count, and click Extract frames. Bear in mind that a single minute of 30 fps footage is 1,800 images, so this tool caps the total at 300 frames per run to keep your browser stable.

What image format should I choose for extracted frames?

Pick PNG when the frames are going into an editor, an animation program or a dataset, because it is lossless and preserves sharp edges. Choose JPEG when you just need previews or contact sheets and want the download to be a fraction of the size.

Why can I only extract 300 frames at a time?

The frames are decoded and stored inside your browser tab rather than on a server, so the limit protects the page from running out of memory. If you need more, run the tool again with a later start time and collect the next batch.

Does extracting frames reduce the image quality?

A PNG frame is a pixel-exact copy of the decoded video frame, so nothing is lost beyond the compression already baked into the video. If you scale the frame width down, the tool uses a high-quality Lanczos filter for the resize.

Is my video uploaded anywhere?

No. The decoding happens inside your browser using WebAssembly, so the file never leaves your device and there is no server involved at any point. You can even disconnect from the internet once the page has loaded.
