About the WebP to JPG Converter
This tool converts .webp images into standard JPEG files that open everywhere — old photo viewers, Office documents, printing kiosks and legacy software that still refuse WebP. Drop in one or many WebP files, set the JPEG quality, and download each result.
Because JPEG has no transparency, any transparent areas in your WebP are filled with a clean white background automatically, so logos and cut-out graphics convert without ugly black boxes.
Everything is processed by your own browser using the canvas API. Your images never leave your device, and there are no file limits, watermarks or sign-ups.
Frequently asked questions
Why can't I open WebP files on my computer?
Older photo viewers, some versions of Microsoft Office and many legacy apps were written before WebP existed and don't include a decoder. Converting the file to JPG makes it openable everywhere without installing new software.
Does converting WebP to JPG lose quality?
There is a small generational loss because both formats are lossy, but at quality 85+ it is practically invisible. Set the slider higher if the image contains text or sharp graphics; photos survive conversion very well.
What happens to transparency when converting WebP to JPG?
JPEG doesn't support transparency, so this tool fills transparent regions with white before encoding. If you need to keep transparency, convert to PNG instead using our WebP to PNG tool.
How do I convert multiple WebP images at once?
Just select or drag several .webp files together — each is converted in your browser and listed with its own download button. There is no batch limit because nothing is uploaded to a server.
Why do websites save images as WebP anyway?
WebP compresses about a third smaller than JPEG at the same quality, so sites serve it to load faster. Your browser downloads whatever the site provides, which is why images you save often turn out to be .webp.
