  • PNG, JPG and WebP watermarks — transparency fully supported
  • Five position presets with adjustable edge margin
  • Size set as a percentage of video width — scales with any resolution

About the Add Watermark to Video

The ByteTools Add Watermark to Video tool stamps a logo or watermark image onto any clip. Drop in your video and a PNG, JPG or WebP logo — a PNG with transparency looks best — then choose a corner (or center), the distance from the edge, the watermark's size as a percentage of the video width, and its opacity.

It is the standard way to brand content before publishing: protect client previews, keep your handle on clips that get re-shared, or add a channel logo to every export. Because the size is relative to the video, the same logo looks proportionally right on 720p and 4K footage alike.

The compositing runs 100% locally in your browser using a WebAssembly build of ffmpeg. Neither the video nor your logo is uploaded anywhere — no server, no account, no queue — and the watermarked MP4 is generated directly on your device, ready to publish the moment the progress bar completes.

Frequently asked questions

How do I add my logo to a video for free?

Drop the video and your logo image onto this tool, pick a corner, size and opacity, and click Add watermark. The logo is composited onto every frame in your browser and you download a standard MP4 — free, with no service branding added.

What image format works best for a watermark?

A PNG with a transparent background is ideal, because only your logo's actual shape appears over the footage. JPG watermarks work too but always show as a solid rectangle since JPG cannot store transparency.

Can I make the watermark semi-transparent?

Yes — the opacity slider goes from 10% to 100%. Around 50–70% is the sweet spot for most logos: clearly visible and hard to crop out, without hiding the content underneath.

Does the watermark scale with the video resolution?

Yes. You set the watermark's width as a percentage of the video's width, so the same setting produces a proportionally identical result whether the source is 720p, 1080p or 4K.

Can I add moving text instead of an image?

This tool overlays a static image for the whole clip. For a text watermark, first render your text as a transparent PNG (any image editor, or our Add Text to Image tool on a transparent canvas) and use that as the watermark here.
