The distinction that trips people up is months in the breakdown versus total months. In the breakdown, months only ever run 0 to 11 because full years are shown separately. Total months rolls those years back in — so a two-year-three-month-old is 27 total months, the number a pediatric chart expects.

How the exact age is computed
