About the Merge Images
This tool joins multiple images into one, either horizontally (side by side) or vertically (stacked). Because photos rarely share the same dimensions, it can automatically normalise them — scale everything to match the smallest or the largest image — or keep original sizes with top, centre or bottom alignment.
Add an optional gap between images and choose a background color — or keep the background transparent for PNG output — then download the combined result in one click. It is ideal for before/after comparisons, step-by-step screenshot sequences, scanned document pages, product photos shown from several angles, and long chat conversations joined into a single shareable picture.
Merging happens 100% locally in your browser using the canvas API, and your images are never uploaded to any server. That makes it safe for screenshots containing personal information, and it also means there are no file-size limits beyond your own device's memory — up to 30 images can be joined at once.
Frequently asked questions
How do I put two pictures side by side?
Upload both pictures, leave the direction on horizontal, and the tool joins them into one image instantly. Use 'Match smallest' so both photos share the same height, then download the combined PNG or JPG.
What if my images are different sizes?
Choose a size mode. 'Match smallest' scales larger images down and 'Match largest' scales smaller ones up so edges line up perfectly. 'Keep original sizes' leaves every image untouched and lets you align them instead.
Can I merge images vertically into one long image?
Yes. Switch the direction to vertical and the images stack top to bottom — handy for combining full-page screenshots, chat conversations or scanned pages into one continuous picture.
Does merging lower the quality of my photos?
Only images that need resizing are resampled; in 'Keep original sizes' or when an image is already the target size, its pixels are copied unchanged. Export as PNG for lossless results.
Is there a limit to how many images I can join?
You can join up to 30 images at once. The tool also guards against outputs so large they would exhaust browser memory and will ask you to use 'Match smallest' in that case.
