Pay Stub Generator

Build a payslip template with your own earnings and deduction lines, year-to-date columns and computed net pay, exported as a PDF. Every figure is yours.

This tool formats figures you type in — nothing more. It does not calculate income tax, national insurance, FICA or any statutory withholding, and it is not a payroll provider or a tax authority. Take the amounts from your payroll system or accountant and use this only to lay them out as a payslip for your own records.

About the Pay Stub Generator

The ByteTools Pay Stub Generator lays out a clear pay statement from figures you supply: gross earnings lines, deduction lines, year-to-date columns and the resulting net pay. Add or remove rows so the template matches how your business actually pays people.

This is a document formatter, not a payroll engine. It contains no tax tables, no national insurance rates and no jurisdiction rules of any kind — every number on the stub is one you typed in yourself, and the tool simply totals the columns and subtracts deductions from gross to reach net pay. It is not a payroll provider, an accountant or a tax authority, and it cannot tell you what you owe.

The PDF is built in your browser with pdf-lib, so employee names and salary figures never leave your device. Use it as a record-keeping template alongside proper payroll advice, and never to state figures that were not actually paid — falsifying pay records is illegal in most countries.

Frequently asked questions

Does this tool calculate my taxes?

No, and that is deliberate. It holds no tax tables or withholding rates for any country, state or tax year. You enter every earnings and deduction figure yourself, and the tool only adds up the columns and subtracts deductions from gross to show net pay.

What should a pay stub include?

Most pay statements show the employer and employee names, the pay period and pay date, gross earnings broken down by type, each deduction, and net pay — usually with year-to-date totals alongside. Required contents differ by jurisdiction, so check what your local law mandates.

Can I use this as a proof of income document?

It produces a template from numbers you type, so it proves nothing on its own. A lender or landlord will normally want a stub issued by your employer's payroll system, backed by bank statements. Only ever enter figures that match what was genuinely paid.

How is net pay calculated here?

Net pay is simply gross earnings minus total deductions, using the exact amounts you entered. There is no automatic tax, pension or insurance calculation of any kind behind that subtraction.

Is employee salary data kept private?

Yes. The pay stub is generated entirely in your browser and downloaded to your device. No names, salaries or deduction amounts are transmitted or stored.
