About the Weekday Finder
The ByteTools Weekday Finder answers "what day of the week is that date?" for any date, past or future. Enter a birthday, a historical event or a distant deadline and it names the weekday instantly, along with whether that day is in the past, today, or still to come.
A second mode solves the reverse: pick a weekday, an ordinal such as first or third, a month and a year to find dates like "the third Monday of January 2027" — the pattern used for many public holidays, paydays and recurring meetings. It even handles "last" weekday of a month correctly.
All lookups run locally in your browser with JavaScript. No dates are sent anywhere, so it is a quick, private calendar reference that works offline.
Frequently asked questions
What day of the week was I born?
Enter your date of birth in the weekday finder and it names the day instantly. It uses the Gregorian calendar via JavaScript's Date engine, so historical dates return the correct weekday.
How do I find the third Monday of a month?
Switch to Nth weekday mode, choose "3rd", "Monday", then the month and year. The tool returns the exact date — useful because many public holidays are defined this way, such as the third Monday in a given month.
What does the "last" weekday option do?
Choosing "last" finds the final occurrence of that weekday in the month — for example the last Friday of December. This is handy for month-end paydays and recurring end-of-month meetings.
Can it tell me the weekday for a future date?
Yes. There is no range limit, so you can look up the weekday for a date years ahead, such as when a particular anniversary or deadline will fall, and plan accordingly.
Why do I need to know the day of the week for a date?
Knowing the weekday helps with scheduling meetings and events, checking whether a deadline lands on a weekend, planning shifts, and settling trivia about historical or future dates.
