Your streak is saved with your browser's local storage and never leaves this device. Clearing site data or using private browsing will reset it, so export the CSV if you want a permanent copy.
What is the Writing Streak Tracker?
Streaks work because they make one missed day visible. This tracker lets you log the words you wrote each day and turns that log into the numbers that actually motivate: your current streak, your longest ever streak, the total words you have banked, your daily average and your single best day.
- Current streak, longest streak, days logged, total words, average and best day
- Contribution-style heat grid of the last twelve weeks drawn on canvas
- Yesterday still counts, so a late entry does not break the streak
- Saved in your browser's local storage — no account and no sign-in
- CSV export and copy of the complete log, plus per-day delete
- Duplicate dates are merged, so one day is never counted twice

About the Writing Streak Tracker
Streaks work because they make one missed day visible. This tracker lets you log the words you wrote each day and turns that log into the numbers that actually motivate: your current streak, your longest ever streak, the total words you have banked, your daily average and your single best day.
A contribution-style heat grid covers the last twelve weeks, with darker squares for bigger days, so a fortnight of blanks is obvious at a glance. Yesterday still counts towards the current streak, which means a late entry does not wipe out weeks of work, and saving the same date twice simply replaces that day's total.
Your log is saved locally in your browser's storage and is never uploaded — there is no account and nothing syncs, so nobody else can see it. That also means clearing site data or using private browsing will reset it, so export the CSV if you want a permanent copy. Everything runs on your own device.
Frequently asked questions
How does the writing streak work?
Your streak is the run of consecutive calendar days that have an entry, counted backwards from today. A day with any word count above zero keeps the run alive, and the streak is still shown as live if your most recent entry was yesterday.
Where is my writing log stored?
In your browser's local storage on this device, under a single key. Nothing is sent to a server, there is no account to create, and the log is not visible from any other browser or computer you use.
Will clearing my browser data delete my streak?
Yes. Clearing site data, using private or incognito browsing, or switching to another browser will lose the log, because local storage is tied to that browser profile. Download the CSV regularly if the history matters to you.
Can I log a day I forgot to record?
Yes — just pick that date in the date field and enter the word count. Entries are stored against plain calendar dates, so you can backfill any day at any time and the streak recalculates immediately.
What happens if I save the same date twice?
The newer entry replaces the older one rather than adding to it, so a correction is easy. If you want to add to a day you already logged, enter the new running total for that date instead of the extra words.
