YouTube Monetization Requirements Checker

Check subscribers, watch hours and Shorts views against both YouTube Partner Program routes, see the exact shortfall and a days-to-eligibility projection.

Where your channel is today

Your current daily rate

Leave a rate at zero if you are not growing that metric — the projection then shows a dash instead of pretending you will get there.

Thresholds (edit if YouTube changes them)

What the numbers mean

  • Watch hours must come from public, non-Shorts videos in a rolling 12-month window.
  • Shorts views count over a rolling 90-day window; the two routes are alternatives, not a sum.
  • Unlisted, private, deleted, paid-promotion and ad-campaign views do not count.

Hitting the numbers is not the whole test

You also need an AdSense account, two-step verification, no active Community Guidelines strike, and a manual review against YouTube's monetization policies. This checker only measures the countable thresholds — it cannot predict the review.

What is the YouTube Monetization Requirements Checker?

A checker that compares your subscriber count, valid public watch hours and 90-day Shorts views against the YouTube Partner Program thresholds — 1,000 subscribers plus either 4,000 watch hours or 10 million Shorts views — and projects how long the gap will take to close.

  • Both YPP routes checked at once — watch hours and Shorts views
  • Per-requirement progress bars with the exact remaining shortfall
  • Days-to-eligibility projected from your own daily growth rates
  • Optional early-access fan-funding tier alongside the full program
  • Every threshold editable, so the tool survives a policy change
  • A zero or hopeless growth rate shows a dash, never an infinite wait

How to use the YouTube Monetization Requirements Checker

  1. 1

Enter your current subscriber count, valid public watch hours over the last 12 months, and Shorts views over the last 90 days.

  2. 2

Add your current daily growth rate for each of those three metrics.

  3. 3

Read each route card: a filled bar means the requirement is met, and the caption shows the shortfall and the projected days.

  4. 4

Tick the early-access box to also check the lower fan-funding tier, and edit any threshold if YouTube changes it.

About the YouTube Monetization Requirements Checker

The YouTube Partner Program has two countable routes to the same door: 1,000 subscribers plus 4,000 valid public watch hours in the past 12 months, or 1,000 subscribers plus 10 million valid public Shorts views in the past 90 days. This tool checks both at once, shows a progress bar per requirement and tells you the exact number you are short by.

Enter your current daily rate for subscribers, watch hours and Shorts views and it projects how many days each route takes at that pace. If a rate is zero the projection shows a dash rather than pretending you will arrive eventually. There is also an optional check against the lower early-access tier that unlocks fan funding before full ad revenue.

Every threshold is an editable input, because YouTube has changed these numbers before and rolls new tiers out to different countries at different times. Nothing is fetched from YouTube and no account is connected — the whole check runs in your browser.

Frequently asked questions

What are the YouTube monetization requirements?

You need 1,000 subscribers plus either 4,000 valid public watch hours in the previous 12 months or 10 million valid public Shorts views in the previous 90 days. You also need to live in an eligible country, have no active Community Guidelines strike, enable two-step verification and link an AdSense account.

Do Shorts views count towards the 4,000 watch hours?

No. Shorts watch time is tracked separately and does not add to the 4,000-hour requirement. The two routes are alternatives, so you qualify by completing one of them rather than by combining them.

Which views do not count towards monetization?

Watch time from unlisted, private or deleted videos does not count, and neither do views driven by paid promotion or Google Ads campaigns. Only valid public views inside the rolling window count towards the thresholds.

How long does it take to reach 4,000 watch hours?

It depends entirely on your current pace, which is why this tool asks for your daily rate. Enter the watch hours you are adding per day and the projection divides your remaining shortfall by it.

Does hitting the numbers guarantee monetization?

No. Meeting the thresholds only puts you in the review queue. YouTube then manually reviews the channel against its monetization policies, and reused or low-effort content can still be rejected. This tool measures the countable part only.
