Which type should I use: Article, NewsArticle or BlogPosting?

Use the most specific one that fits: NewsArticle for journalistic news content, BlogPosting for blog posts, and plain Article as the general fallback. All three are treated similarly by Google, but specificity is best practice and costs nothing.

Is Article schema required to rank in Google News or Discover?

What image sizes does Google want for article markup?
