Note that since 2023 Google shows FAQ rich results (the expandable Q&A dropdowns) only for well-known, authoritative government and health websites — for everyone else the markup no longer produces the dropdown, though it remains valid structured data.

This tool already outputs valid, correctly escaped JSON-LD, so a clean check usually just confirms the markup matches the questions and answers visible on your page.

Do FAQ rich results still show in Google?

Rarely. Since August 2023, Google limits FAQ rich results to well-known, authoritative government and health sites. For most websites the expandable Q&A snippet no longer appears, regardless of markup. The markup itself is still valid schema.org and may help answer engines and AI search understand your content.

Is it still worth adding FAQ schema?

Often yes, if you already have genuine FAQ content. It costs little, keeps your content machine-readable for AI assistants and answer engines, and positions you if policies change. Just don't create fake FAQ pages purely to chase a rich result that won't show.

Can I put FAQ schema on any page?

Only on pages that actually display those questions and answers to users. The markup must match visible content. Also, a question should have a single authoritative answer — for user-generated Q&A with multiple answers, QAPage is the correct type instead.

Can answers contain HTML?

Google allows limited HTML in the answer text (links, lists, basic formatting like <br> and <b>). This generator outputs plain text for maximum compatibility; you can add allowed HTML manually afterwards if you need it.

How many questions should an FAQ page have?

There's no schema limit, but quality beats quantity: cover the questions users genuinely ask, each with a complete standalone answer of two to four sentences. Thin one-line answers help neither users nor answer engines.
