About the Delivery Note Generator
A delivery note travels with the goods. It tells the person on the loading bay what should be in the consignment, what actually shipped, and what is still to follow — and it gives them somewhere to sign. This generator produces one as an A4 or US Letter PDF with separate ship-to and bill-to blocks, the customer's order reference, and the carrier and tracking details.
Each line takes an ordered quantity and a shipped quantity, and the back-order figure is worked out for you. Add carton counts and a unit net weight and the tool totals the cartons, net weight, packaging tare and gross weight for the whole shipment. Prices are deliberately left off, with an optional value-for-customs column for cross-border consignments.

Frequently asked questions
What is the difference between a delivery note and an invoice?
A delivery note lists what is in the box and travels with the goods; an invoice asks for money and goes to the accounts department. That is why a delivery note normally shows no prices — the person receiving the goods usually has no business seeing your commercial terms.
Is a delivery note the same as a packing slip?
In practice, yes. The two names describe the same document: a list of what was shipped against an order, with somewhere for the recipient to sign. Some suppliers use packing slip for the copy inside the carton and delivery note for the copy the driver carries.
Should a delivery note show prices?
Normally no. The exception is a cross-border shipment, where customs may need a declared value. This tool keeps the value column switched off by default and, when you enable it, prints a line making clear the figure is stated for customs purposes and is not an invoice.
How do I show items that are out of stock?
Enter the full quantity ordered and the smaller quantity actually shipped. The back-order figure is the difference and is calculated for you, shown per line and totalled at the bottom, so the customer can see immediately what is still to come.
What is the difference between net and gross weight?
Net weight is the goods alone; gross weight adds the packaging. Here the net weight is the shipped quantity times the unit weight, and the gross weight adds a tare figure per carton that you set, which is what carriers and customs forms usually ask for.
