A horizontal flip is the classic fix for selfie-camera recordings where writing on shirts, whiteboards or signs appears reversed — one pass through this tool and every word reads the right way again.

It is also useful for correcting footage from mirrored webcams and teleprompter setups, un-flipping clips exported by apps that mirror the preview, or deliberately mirroring b-roll so motion flows the other way in an edit. Combining the horizontal and vertical options in one pass is equivalent to rotating the clip a full 180 degrees.

How do I un-mirror a selfie video?

Choose the horizontal flip option and click Flip video. Front cameras usually mirror the preview, so text in the recording appears backwards — a horizontal mirror restores it so writing reads normally again.

What is the difference between flipping and rotating a video?

Flipping mirrors the image like a reflection, so left and right (or top and bottom) swap. Rotating turns the whole frame by 90° or 180°. If your video is sideways, you want the Rotate Video tool; if text is backwards, you want a flip.

Does flipping a video affect the audio?

No. Only the picture is mirrored — the soundtrack is carried over and re-encoded to AAC unchanged in content, timing and channel order.

Will the flipped video lose quality?

The clip is re-encoded with H.264 at CRF 23, which is visually near-identical to the source for typical footage. Resolution and frame rate are preserved exactly.

Is anything uploaded when I flip a video here?

No. The processing runs entirely in your browser via WebAssembly, so the file stays on your device the whole time. That is also why there are no file size limits beyond your computer's own memory.
