How that number was built

- $1,250
- Engagement multiplier (your ER ÷ benchmark)
- 3.00× → clamped 2.50×
- Content factor
- Reel / TikTok / Short (×1.6)
- Before rights uplift
- $5,000
- Rights uplift applied
- +25%
Sanity checks for the brand side
- Estimated engagements per post
- 1,050
- Cost per engagement
- $5.952
- Effective CPM on followers
- $125.00
Cost per engagement shows — when your engagement rate is 0% — there is nothing to divide by.
This is a negotiating starting point, not a market price. There is no public rate card for influencer marketing, so every constant here — CPM, benchmark, content factor, uplifts — is an input you control. A real quote also depends on audience quality, past campaign performance, turnaround time, revision rounds and how badly the brand wants you. All maths runs locally in your browser.
What is the Influencer Rate Calculator?
An influencer rate calculator that estimates a sponsored-post fee as followers × base CPM ÷ 1,000 × (your engagement rate ÷ a platform benchmark) × a content-type factor, then adds usage-rights and exclusivity uplifts and outputs a negotiating range.
- Transparent build-up: reach base, engagement multiplier, content factor, uplifts
- Engagement multiplier clamped so outliers cannot distort the quote
- Six deliverable types weighted from story frames to livestreams
- Separate usage-rights and exclusivity uplifts, both editable
- Cost-per-engagement and effective-CPM checks for the brand side
- Every benchmark is an editable input, not a hidden constant
How to use the Influencer Rate Calculator
- 1
Pick your platform to load a starting base CPM and engagement benchmark, then adjust either one.
- 2
Enter your follower count and your own engagement rate as a percentage.
- 3
Choose the deliverable — static post, carousel, reel, story frame, UGC asset or livestream.
- 4
Add usage-rights and exclusivity uplifts if the brand wants to run your content as an ad or lock you out of the category.
- 5
Set the spread slider for how wide your negotiating range should be, then read the low, suggested and high figures.
About the Influencer Rate Calculator
There is no public rate card for influencer marketing, so any calculator claiming to know your price is guessing. This one shows its working instead. It starts from a reach base — followers multiplied by a CPM you set — then adjusts for how far your engagement rate sits above or below the benchmark for your platform, weights the deliverable, and adds uplifts for usage rights and exclusivity.
The engagement multiplier is clamped between 0.5× and 2.5× so a single viral month or a benchmark typo cannot produce a nonsense number. The result is a low-mid-high range you can walk into a negotiation with, and every constant behind it — CPM, benchmark, content factor, uplift percentages, spread — is an input you can change.
Brand-side sanity checks sit next to the quote: estimated engagements, cost per engagement and the effective CPM your price implies. This is a negotiating starting point rather than a market price, and everything is computed in your browser with nothing uploaded.
Frequently asked questions
How much should I charge for a sponsored Instagram post?
A common starting point is roughly $10 to $25 per 1,000 followers for a static feed post, adjusted by engagement, niche and rights. This tool builds that from a CPM you set rather than asserting a figure, because rates vary enormously by category.
What is the one percent rule for influencer pricing?
It is the rule of thumb that says charge about $100 per 10,000 followers, which is a $10 CPM. It is an anchor, not a market price, and it ignores engagement, deliverable type and usage rights entirely — all of which this calculator models separately.
How much extra should I charge for usage rights?
Paid amplification or whitelisting commonly adds 20% to 50% for a limited term, and perpetual rights across all channels can cost far more than the original post. Enter the uplift you are negotiating and the tool applies it on top of the base fee.
Why does engagement rate change my rate so much?
Because a brand is buying attention, not follower numbers. An account with 20,000 highly engaged followers can deliver more real interaction than one with 200,000 passive ones, so the multiplier compares your rate against a benchmark for your platform.
Is this an official or authoritative rate?
No. It is a negotiating starting point built from constants you chose. A real quote also depends on audience quality, past campaign results, turnaround time, revision rounds and demand, none of which any calculator can see.
