Everything happens inside your browser using JavaScript. The form is never uploaded, which matters when the document is a job application, a tax return, a rental agreement or a medical intake sheet. Close the tab and nothing is left behind on any server.

You can tick the flatten option to bake your answers into the page content so nobody can edit them afterwards, or leave it off to keep the form live for the next person. A reset button puts every field back to the value the file arrived with.

Frequently asked questions

Why does this PDF show no fields to fill in?

The document is probably not a real form. Many PDFs that look like forms are just flat artwork with lines drawn on them, and some government forms use XFA (LiveCycle), which browsers cannot read. In both cases there are no AcroForm fields for the tool to find.

What does flattening a PDF form actually do?

Flattening draws each field's current appearance directly into the page content and then removes the interactive field. The result looks identical but nobody can click into it and change an answer, which is what most people want before emailing a signed form.

Can I fill a PDF form without Adobe Acrobat?

Yes. This tool uses the same AcroForm data that Acrobat reads, so any form built as a standard fillable PDF can be completed here for free. You do not need an account, a plugin or a desktop install.

Will my answers stay private?

Yes. The PDF is read and rewritten entirely in your browser's memory, and no part of it is sent over the network. That is why the tool keeps working even if you go offline after the page has loaded.

Some special characters turned into question marks. Why?

Standard PDF form fonts use WinAnsi encoding, which covers Western European characters but not Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Arabic or emoji. Anything outside that set is replaced with a question mark so the file still saves instead of failing.
