About the Printable Calendar Generator

The ByteTools Printable Calendar Generator draws a calendar to a canvas and hands you a print-ready file. Choose a single month or a full year with all twelve months on one sheet, set which day the week starts on, and pick A4 or Letter in portrait or landscape — the page is drawn at exact paper proportions so it prints edge to edge without scaling.

Add your own dates by pasting lines such as 2026-12-25 | Christmas Day. Labels appear inside the day cell on a single-month sheet, and starting a line with an asterisk shades that day as a holiday. ISO 8601 week numbers can be printed in a narrow column beside each row, and weekends are tinted so the working week stands out.

The preview redraws as you change any option, and the same canvas is exported either as a 2x-resolution PNG or embedded into a PDF using pdf-lib. Both files are produced 100% locally in your browser — your events and holiday list are never uploaded, so a team or family calendar stays private to your machine.

Frequently asked questions

What paper size will the calendar print at?

You can choose A4 (210 by 297 mm) or US Letter (8.5 by 11 in), in portrait or landscape. The canvas is drawn at the exact point dimensions of that sheet, so printing at 100% with no fit-to-page scaling gives you the layout you saw on screen.

How do I add my own holidays to the calendar?

Paste one line per date into the events box, using YYYY-MM-DD followed by a label, for example 2026-12-25 | Christmas Day. Start the line with an asterisk to shade the whole cell as a holiday, and start it with # to keep a line as a comment that is ignored.

What are ISO 8601 week numbers?

ISO 8601 counts weeks from Monday, and week 1 is the week containing the first Thursday of the year. Many businesses plan and report by week number, so the generator can print them in a narrow column beside each row of the month grid.

Can I get a twelve-page calendar as one PDF?

Each export renders exactly what the preview shows: one month, or a full-year sheet with all twelve months on a single page. For a twelve-page pack, switch to single-month mode and export each month in turn, then combine the files with a PDF merge tool.

Which years can I generate a calendar for?

Any year from 1583 to 3000 is accepted, which is the range in which the Gregorian calendar the tool draws was actually in use. Weekday alignment, leap years and week numbers are all computed from the calendar rules rather than looked up in a table.
