About the Replace Color in Image

This color replacer swaps one color in an image for another. Click the preview to pick the color you want to change, choose the replacement, and every matching pixel is recolored. Crucially, each pixel keeps its own lightness — so shadows, highlights and texture survive, and a red shirt becomes a convincingly shaded blue shirt rather than a flat blob.

A tolerance slider decides how wide a range of similar shades gets replaced, and feathering blends the edges of the match so there are no hard color seams. It is great for recoloring logos, icons, product mock-ups, T-shirt designs and UI screenshots.

Frequently asked questions

How do I change one color to another in a picture?

Upload the picture, click on the color you want to change in the preview, then choose the new color. The tool recolors every pixel within the tolerance range and you download the result as PNG.

Why does the recolored area still show shading and folds?

That's intentional. The tool keeps each pixel's original lightness and only changes the hue and saturation, so shadows and highlights remain. This makes recolored clothing, logos and objects look natural instead of flat.

The wrong parts of my image are changing color — what do I do?

Lower the tolerance so only shades very close to your picked color match, and re-click the preview to pick a more representative pixel. High tolerance values catch broader shades, which can spill into similar-colored areas.

Can I replace a color with white or black?

Yes, but note that because the tool preserves each pixel's lightness, replacing with pure white or black shifts pixels toward a grey ramp of the original shading. For flat single-color fills, set tolerance high and feather to 0.

Does this work on logos and clip-art?

Very well — flat-color graphics are the ideal case. Solid regions are matched cleanly with a low tolerance, and the anti-aliased edges are handled by the feathering control.
