Resizing runs locally in your browser with pdf-lib and the file is never uploaded. Aspect ratio is always preserved: a page whose shape does not match the target sheet gains even white margins rather than being stretched. That keeps charts, signatures and scanned handwriting looking exactly right.

Frequently asked questions

How do I change a PDF from Letter to A4?

Load the file, select A4 as the target page size and click Resize PDF. Every page is scaled by about 94% and centred on an A4 sheet, so the document prints correctly on European paper without the clipped edges you get from scaling in the print dialog.

Does resizing a PDF reduce its quality?

No. Text and vector graphics are re-scaled mathematically rather than redrawn as pixels, so they stay perfectly sharp. Embedded photographs are scaled too, so a big enlargement can make a low-resolution image look softer.

Why does my resized page have white bands at the sides?

Because the original page shape does not match the target sheet. A4 is narrower and taller than US Letter, so fitting one inside the other always leaves a little space. Keeping the ratio is what stops your content being distorted.

Can I resize just some pages of a PDF?

This tool resizes the whole document, which is usually the point — it makes mixed-size files consistent. For a subset, extract those pages first, resize the extracted file, then merge everything back together.

Is resizing the same as compressing a PDF?

No. Resizing changes the page dimensions and leaves the content quality alone, so the file size barely moves. Compressing re-encodes the page content to save bytes. Use the PDF compressor when size is the problem.
