Certificate Maker
Design and print award certificates with a border, seal, signature rules and bulk names, exported as a vector PDF or PNG straight from your browser.
Certificate preview
The certificate is drawn as vector shapes, so the PDF prints sharply at any size. PDF text uses the built-in Helvetica and Times fonts, which cover Latin and accented Latin characters — for names in scripts such as Chinese or Arabic, use the PNG download instead. Everything is generated in your browser; no names are uploaded.
What is the Certificate Maker?
A certificate maker lays out an award certificate — title, recipient name, reason, date, signature rules and a seal — and exports it as a print-ready PDF or PNG. Bulk mode turns a pasted list of names into one certificate per page.
- Four border styles: classic double rule, ornate corners, modern bars and plain
- Vector seal drawn from concentric arcs, a scalloped ring and a star
- Bulk mode turns a pasted name list into a multi-page PDF
- Long titles and names shrink automatically so they never overrun the border
- Up to three signature rules, with a date line added when you fill one in
- Vector PDF output that stays sharp at any print size
How to use the Certificate Maker
- 1
Pick the paper size, orientation and border style, then type the certificate title and the line that sits above the name.
- 2
Enter one recipient name, or tick bulk mode and paste a list to get one certificate per name.
- 3
Add the reason for the award, an optional date, and the names and titles for the signature lines.
- 4
Choose an accent colour and, if you want one, the text printed on the seal.
- 5
Download the PDF for the whole set, or PNG for the certificate currently shown in the preview.
About the Certificate Maker
The ByteTools Certificate Maker draws a complete award certificate as vector shapes: a choice of border, a title, the recipient's name on a ruled line, the reason for the award, up to three signature rules and a scalloped seal built from arcs and a five-pointed star. Every element updates in the preview as you type.
Bulk mode is the part that saves an evening. Paste your class list, one name per line, and each name becomes its own page in a single PDF — so a set of thirty end-of-year awards is one download instead of thirty edits. You can still work on one certificate at a time when you only need one.
Nothing is uploaded. The certificate is drawn on a canvas and written to PDF entirely inside your browser, so the names of your students never leave the device you are working on, and the tool keeps working with the network switched off.
Frequently asked questions
How do I make certificates for a whole class at once?
Tick the bulk mode checkbox and paste your class list into the names box, one name per line. Every other setting stays the same, and the PDF download contains one certificate per name in the order you typed them.
What size should an award certificate be?
Landscape US Letter or A4 is the usual choice because it fits standard certificate frames and folders. A5 works well for smaller reward cards. All three are available here, in portrait or landscape.
Can I use a name with accents or non-Latin characters?
Accented Latin names such as Zoë or Ruíz print correctly in the PDF. Scripts like Chinese, Arabic or Devanagari cannot be embedded in the PDF's built-in fonts, so use the PNG download for those — the canvas renders them using your system fonts.
Is the certificate a real vector file or just a picture?
The PDF is genuine vector output: the border, seal and text are drawn as shapes and text objects, not as a bitmap. That means it stays crisp whether you print it at A5 or blow it up to A3.
Do I need to sign up or pay to download the certificate?
No. There is no account, no watermark and no limit on downloads. The certificate is generated in your browser and saved straight to your device.
